Befun Digital Lab

Body Cosmos is an immersive digital installation by Befun Digital Lab, the artistic collaboration between Lin Runugui and Ke Yong'en. Known for their work at the intersection of new media, technology, and human perception, the duo combines mixed reality, interactive media, and digital innovation to create experiences that explore the relationship between the human body and the natural world.

Drawing on biological data, biomedical imaging, volumetric rendering, and particle systems, Body Cosmos creates a hyper-realistic virtual environment that visualises the intricate structures of the human body alongside the vast formations of the cosmos. The installation transforms complex scientific information into an immersive visual experience, revealing unexpected connections between the microscopic and the infinite.

Inspired by the body's remarkable coordination and movement, the artwork highlights the hidden systems that allow muscles, bones, and joints to work in harmony. Through advanced motion capture and digital processing, these natural processes are reimagined as dynamic visual forms, encouraging visitors to reflect on identity, perception, and humanity's place within the universe.
