#Riyadh Landmark Art Master Plan
RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA
Our Global Curatorial Team led the development of the Riyadh Landmark Art Master Plan, helping establish a city-wide vision for one of the world's most ambitious public art programs. Working alongside Futurecity and Hollwich Kushner Architects (HWKN), we developed a framework for 1,000 landmark artworks across Riyadh — an interdisciplinary collaboration spanning curatorial strategy, architecture, and urban design.
As a major cultural initiative supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, Riyadh Art brings together 11 permanent and temporary programs featuring local, regional, and international artists. These range from major landmark commissions to annual programming, including a city-wide light festival.
Grounded in extensive research and spatial analysis, the Master Plan drew on Riyadh's landscape, history, culture, and patterns of movement to identify where art could have the greatest impact. It looked beyond singular artworks to explore digital experiences, interactive works, and other creative interventions — creating moments of discovery, gathering, and connection across the public realm.
Designed as a living framework, the strategy lays out the delivery principles that guide Riyadh Art over time. The Master Plan has received Royal Decree and is now in delivery, with the program commissioning artworks that support urban activation, cultural exchange, and the continued growth of Riyadh's creative economy — setting a new benchmark for public art master planning at city scale.
