#Riyadh Metro Bowl

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA

The Riyadh Metro Bowl – Qasr Al Hokm Metro Station is a visionary hub at the heart of Riyadh’s metro network, designed to ease congestion, improve air quality, and revitalize the urban landscape.

At its core is a striking stainless-steel canopy that functions as both a landmark and a connector—reflecting light underground while shading the plaza above. Resting on an inclined wall, it seamlessly merges indoor and outdoor spaces, symbolizing transparency and movement.

Passengers discover an unexpected oasis at the station’s base—a lush, shaded garden amid the bustling metro hub. Indigenous trees, aligned with Mecca and integrated with a sustainable irrigation system, enhance the tranquil atmosphere.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the station incorporates energy and water conservation, natural ventilation, and rooftop solar panels. A competition-winning concept by Snøhetta, in collaboration with One Works and Crew, it exemplifies the fusion of architecture, sustainability, and urban renewal, shaping Riyadh’s future infrastructure.
