Bertrand Lavier’s Meknes Pol City Ifafa 2 Itata 2 Port Tampa is a dynamic fusion of light and form, evoking the neon-lit vibrancy of New York City. Part of a decade-long series, these half-painting, half-sculpture works reinterpret Frank Stella’s Shaped Canvases with vibrant neon lights.

Inspired by Stella’s early 1960s designs, Lavier transforms their bold, colored lines into luminous sculptures, where glowing fluorescent tubes trace and enhance the original forms. The result is a mesmerizing interplay of past and present, paying homage to Stella’s groundbreaking work while asserting Lavier’s distinctive artistic vision.
